DaVinci Center Policies and Dates for Breaks

Here is some important information regarding the standard policies observed by The DaVinci Center, students, and parents.

Tuition Policies

Tuition is due at the first lesson of each month for the ensuing month. Tuition is paid for monthly, quarterly or yearly through automatic credit card payments or checks sent into the office by the 10th of each month, $10 late fees (See the Tuition page for class rates.)  Students pay for 48 lessons per year, that is 4 lessons per month even though there are 4 weeks of the year when the students receive 5 lessons per month.  This is balanced out with the DaVinci Holiday Schedule which is below.

Holiday Breaks – Time off to keep young minds thirsty

DaVinci Center has no classes during the week of July 4th, Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and New Year’s Week.

Classes are in session for all of summer for the greatest retention.

Important Policies

Performance Class (recitals) and POD classes

Performance and POD classes are one hour classes and take the place of the lesson for the week. There are no lessons at the Centers the week AFTER the Performance Class.  Sign up sheets are in the studio 2-3 weeks ahead so parents can plan for the most convenient Performance Class or POD times for their children. Performance classes are held on Sundays anywhere from 1:00-4:00 and in Lakewood on Friday evenings at 6:30. There is usually a “snack sign-up” sheet accompanying the Performance Class sign-up for families who would like to bring a treat to the special class.

Lakewood Performance Classes: ROCKLEY MUSIC, 8555 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood, CO
Broomfield Performance Classes: THE RISEN SAVIOR CHURCH, 3032 W. 144TH AVE., Broomfield, CO

Missed lessons can be made up at an agreed upon time, as soon as possible, before or after the planned or unexpected absence. Only one make-up per quarter is allowed.

Make-up lessons will only be offered for reasons of illness, family vacations or unexpected emergencies. Only one make-up lesson will be scheduled per missed lesson, therefore if you miss the make-up there will not be another one scheduled in it’s place. 24 hour notice is required for make-ups – let us know if you are having an emergency.

Only in the case of extended absences planned ahead will there be any adjustment in tuition. Otherwise credits are not given. If a make-up lesson cannot be scheduled around the time of the student’s absence, there can be a make-up lesson scheduled during the week of the Performance Class or POD class.

Parents are responsible for setting up make-ups and only 4 make-ups per year are allowed. There are NO make-ups for missed recitals or missed POD classes.

For ages 3-9 year old piano students, a Parent Class is offered to help the “home teacher” (parent) learn the first 4 Suzuki songs and gain valuable tools for working with the child at home.  A one-time $40 tuition fee for the Parent Class is due at the time of the first month’s lessons. The CD/Suzuki Piano Book 1 ($19.99) and “Nurtured by Love” by Dr. Suzuki ($12.95) are required (purchased through your teacher or music stores) for Suzuki students.

Once per year, usually the last Sunday in January, the student’s original songs are professionally orchestrated and performed in Concert by local top musicians, including Sphere Ensemble and Grammy Award winning pianist Victor Mestas, among others. Concert fee is $150 per student.
